Scouting of startups can be quite exhausting, as we experienced during Online Marketing Rockstars (OMR17) in Hamburg last week. On the stand of Next Media Accelerator 50 startups from 18 countries presented themselves. This 'Media Match' lasted for 8 hours, but gave a great overview of exciting media startups. Among them were two startups from the Netherlands, MediaMatters alumnus Matchhamster and InBeacon.
The presentations of startups attracted quite a bit of attention during the very crowded OMR17. The pitches were interspersed with panel discussions with a surprise appearance of the German minister for economics and energy Brigitte Zypries.

There were quiet a few 'ad tech' and 'marketing tech' startups present at the Media Match. One of them was AdTriba. The Hamburg based company allows advertisers to track, control and optimize their online marketing activities across all digital marketing channels through data science and user journey analysis. A jury chose the pitch of AdTriba as the best of the 50 startups.
For Matchhamster the visit to Hamburg was successful. Not only did the company get more contacts in Germany, in Hamburg managing director Yuri Martens also met with a representative of DPA tot discuss possibilities of a cooperation."
For MediaMatters the Media Match was also very worthwhile. We spotted a lot of startups that are relevant for our mediapartners. And in talks it was good to hear that many of the startups were enthusiastic about the MediaMatters program and the opportunity to work with Dutch media companies.
